What are the results like? What can I expect?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The result of this type of aesthetic treatment is an appreciable slight improvement of the eyelids droopiness. The results of each treatment are not as dramatic as you would have with surgery. However, to most people who are only looking for minor improvements, surgery may not be their preferred option and electrical plasma eyelid tightening may be the best option.

The degree of improvement possible depends on the intensity of the treatment. The higher the intensity of the treatment the better the results after the part has recovered.

Although the improvements after each treatment are not dramatic they are cumulative. This means that you build upon the results already obtained after the previous treatments hence repeating the treatments at the right interval will eventually lead to very good results. It is your beauty practitioner’s job to advise you on what kind of results can be expected in your case.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_video link=”https://youtube.com/embed/Zi-5XJlWaF0″ size=”500″ height_size=”400″][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Who is eyelid tightening most suitable for?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]If you are only looking to achieve minor improvements of the appearance of slightly droopy eyelids or your lines around the eyes are very fine then eyelid tightening using electric plasma (or voltaic plasma) can be a very good option.

in case your eyelids are significantly droopy, eyelid tightening can be very beneficial, however, you may require a number of treatments to achieve satisfactory results.

If you have significant eyelid droopiness coupled with underlining intradermal fat deposits that you would like to have removed, surgery may be your best option. It has to be borne in mind that the results achievable with surgery are far more dramatic than those possible with eyelid tightening and the two should not be confused.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

How many treatments do I need?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]This depends on the amount of droopiness of your eyelids, the degree of improvement you would like to achieve and the intensity of each treatment. After each medium intensity treatment there is a slight improvement in the appearance of the droopiness of your eyelids as the skin is tightened. Given that the effects of the treatment are cumulative, repeating the treatment would eventually accomplish the desired results. Your beauty practitioner will explain what to expect form this aesthetic procedure and may provide a rough estimation of the number of sessions which may be required.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

How long do the results last for?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Based on our experience and several trials, the results still show two years after the last treatment. They may last even longer than two years. Please note that the treatment will not stop the natural aging process of your skin.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Can I get the same results as surgery?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]If you have fat underneath your upper eyelids or your under-eyes (eye-bags) which you would like to have removed, eyelid tightening cannot help you achieve these expectations. If your have a significant amount of droopy skin, it is not advisable to use very high intensity treatments in order to mimic the results of blepharoplasty in a few sessions. For drastic immediate results the best option is always surgery and eyelid tightening only brings mild improvements in the appearance of saggy skin. Eyelid tightening using plasma, is especially suited to those individuals who do not desire drastic sudden change in look, but only minor improvements at a time. The effects of those improvements are cumulative, therefore further treatments will improve on the results already achieved with previous treatments.
Please bear in mind that Eyelid tightening using CO2 lasers or voltaic arcing is especially suited for minor corrections and improvements in the appearance of saggy/droopy eyelids and eye-bags.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Is this procedure going to be painful?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]These types of aesthetic procedures are very simple. The level of pain or discomfort you may experience, depends on your pain threshold on your eyelid area. Some people are able to go through a full eyelid tightening treatment without the need of any numbing product. However some people have a low pain threshold on the eyelid area therefore they may require the use of topical numbing products on their eyelids before undergoing this type of aesthetic procedure.
The use of numbing products will increase the comfort level during the aesthetic procedure. The feeling you may have while the electric plasma is applied under topical anaesthetic is almost like a minor tingling and this will also allow the beauty practitioner to work more effectively because you will be more relaxed during the treatment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Can I return back to work immediately?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]If the nature of your work does not increase the chance to acquire infections, then you can return to work immediately and perform your normal tasks. On the other hand if your work environment exposes you to dust or other particles, it requires you to be outdoor in the sun or it is particularly physically strenuous then it is recommended you wait until your eyelids have recovered in full before starting work again. Most people working in an office environment can resume their normal professional activities immediately. However, due to the degree of swelling which may develop soon after the treatment, you may not look at your best, therefore some people prefer to postpone returning to work until the swelling has subsided and area treated has returned to normal.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

What is the downtime?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Our definition of downtime is that time period during which the client does not feel it is appropriate to rejoin normal social activities because the signs of the treatment cannot be concealed (i.e. swelling or scabbing are evident and could cause embarrassment). This time frame can last between 3 to 8 days depending on the intensity of the treatment, how the treatment was carried out, how the after-care is followed, and the type of soothing product used during the recovery phase. On average after 4 to 5 days the signs of the treatment are hardly visible.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Is swelling after Eyelid tightening normal? What can I do about it?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Swelling is a normal reaction to the superficial burn produced by the treatment. This will normally disappear very quickly, all you have to do is follow the after-care routine prescribed by your beauty practitioner. So avoid the use of products not prescribed by your beauty practitioner and take precautions against the potential exposure to infections, your body will take care of the rest.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

When will the swelling due to the treatment disappear?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]If the after-care protocol is strictly followed without the exposure to hazardous activities or circumstances, any swelling will subside 4 to 5 days after the treatment on average. Swelling will usually peak on the second or third day after the treatment and will gradually subside until it disappears entirely. As the swelling start to subside some scabs may form.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]No. No mineral make up or any other type of make-up product must be used. Do not apply any product (including healing balms) on the area treated unless , it has been recommended by your beauty practitioner. If you do any different you may compromise the recovery of the part treated and the likelihood of undesired effects , including bad healing or infections, can increase dramatically.
You can start and using make-up again, 10 days after the last treatment as long as the all scabs which may have formed, have fallen off by themselves and there is no visible sign of the treatment.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

This means avoiding the use of camouflage until the part which has undergone treatment looks and feels normal again. For Further clarification please contact your beauty Therapist.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

Will scabs form after the treatment?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Scabs do not always form, however if they do form they appear as soon as the swelling starts to subside. It is very important you do not pick the scabs and let them fall off by themselves.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]

What can go wrong?

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]The first consultation is dedicated to explaining the type of aesthetic treatments possible with electrical plasma, your beauty practitioner also answers all your questions and makes sure you are fully briefed on this type of procedure. After that, a patch test will be proposed to prove that you are not going to experience any adverse reaction if you follow the after-care protocol. After two weeks, if the patch testing shows that the part treated has recovered as expected and you are happy, then you can have the aesthetic treatment done.

Some of the undesired effects can be:

  • Hypopigmentation. The likelihood of hypopigmentation is increased by the use of make-up products during the recovery period, if the part becomes infected or the scabs are purposely picked or scratched.
  • Hypepigmentation. The likelihood of hyperpigmentation can be increased by direct sun exposure too early, even if you have worn sunblock. For this reason it is highly advisable you avoid direct sun exposure and sunbathing even if you are wearing sunblock.
  • Hypertrophic or atrophic scars may form if the area treated becomes infected. In order to minimise the risks of infection you must keep the area clean, use a mild antiseptic twice a day (ask your beauty practitioner about the best antiseptic to use, only use the antiseptic suggested by the beauty practitioner, do not use any other antiseptic)
  • Keloids can develop in those who have a predisposition.
